LARKSPUR, CA, DECEMBER 11, 2016 – Finding your sELF and discovering the difference you can make in the lives of others was the theme for the 2nd PNOC Foundation family fundraiser. On the Sunday afternoon, UCSF doctors, pediatric patients, family, friends and the community at large viewed a private screening of the movie classic, ELF at The Lark Theater and joined a holiday reception at the Left Bank Brasserie to help raise awareness and funds for research, trials and a cure for pediatric brain cancer. The mood was festive and fun with Buddy the Elf, Santa, children’s activities and silent auction. Due to generous sponsorships, donations and a sell-out of tickets, the event raised in excess of $120,000!
LARKSPUR, CA, DECEMBER 6, 2015 – The PNOC Foundation hosted the Foundation’s first family fundraiser, Believe in the Magic of the Season, and raised awareness, community spirit and funds for pediatric brain tumor cancer research. Families from all over the Bay Area and patients from UCSF Benioff felt the magic come alive the screening of the Polar Express movie, greetings from the Polar Express Conductor, a surprise visit from Santa and fun treats and activities. PNOC Foundation President, Bruce Campbell and his son, George Campbell welcomed attendees and thanked them for their participation. PNOC Project Founder and UCSF Neuro-Oncology Program Leader, Dr. Michael Prados, explained the need to advance pediatric brain tumor research and treatment. The screening was a sell out at Larkspur’s Left Bank theater and an even fuller house at Left Bank restaurant where a silent auction and reception kept everyone festive. The event was wonderful success, garnering an excess of $50,000 including tickets sales and sponsorships. A generous matching donation of $50,000 by an anonymous donor brought the total to $100,000!
